Abstracts
How does leadership change in modern organizations in the face of environmental challenges? How do today’s leaders open organizations to stakeholder engagement? How do they inspire a culture of openness? How do they stimulate employee engagement at all levels? What role should managers play in this process? Who is the responsible smart leader? This workshop will be devoted to this issue. It will be based on examples mainly from the business world – but not always on examples of typical business organizations. The participants of the lecture may be surprised by case studies of organizations with extremely dispersed leadership, effectively managed organizational networks with a motivated effective teams of employees who are not subject to standard control systems. Real leaders will also speak to the participants, conveying their messages. All this should stimulate participants to reflect on their role in their own organisation.
Bio note
Rafał Mrówka, Ph.D. is an associate professor at the Department of Management Theory at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He specializes in the analysis of modern models of organization, digital transformation, leadership issues, corporate social responsibility, employee satisfaction and engagement surveys and public relations. He is also the director of the MBA-SGH program (executive MBA program in SGH Warsaw School of Economics, one of the best EMBA programs in Poland) and the director of Postgraduate Studies in Public Relations and Strategic Communicating in Companies at SGH. He completed several training courses, including advanced training in Design Thinking at HPI Academy in Germany and International Management Teachers Academy in Bled in Slovenia. He has lectured or participated in research programs at Tel Aviv University (Israel) and Universite Catholique de Lille (France). Rafał Mrówka is also active in business consulting and managerial trainings – he has about 20 years of experience in managing projects for business, is co-owner of consulting and training company IMMOQEE. He worked i.e. for Umbrella Project (the UNDP program in Poland), BIGRAM Personnel Consulting, ITO – United Change Company, Hewlett-Packard, Euler Hermes, Tetra Pak, Schneider Electric, Wabco, Microsoft, Auchan, EDS, Esselte, Siemens, Allianz, Leroy Merlin, Cersanit. He specializes in employee satisfaction and engagement surveys, boosting employee engagement, innovation support programs, development managerial skills, communication and public relations. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the School for Leaders Foundation, which shapes leadership attitudes in society.
